Weekly Lessons Include:
Lesson 1: The Runaway Prophet introduces Jonah’s call from God, the city of Nineveh, Jonah’s decision to flee, and his journey to the port of Joppa.
Lesson 2: Storm at Sea explores the violent storm, the frightened sailors, Jonah’s confession, the casting of lots, and Jonah being thrown overboard.
Lesson 3: Swallowed by a Fish examines Jonah inside the great fish, his prayer of repentance, three days and three nights in the deep, and his journey to Nineveh after deliverance.
Lesson 4: Nineveh Repents focuses on Jonah’s warning to the Assyrian capital, the people’s fasting and sackcloth, the king’s response, and God’s mercy toward the city.
Lesson 5: Jonah and the Plant follows Jonah’s anger outside Nineveh, the plant that gave shade, the worm that destroyed it, and God’s lesson about compassion and mercy.
