Students will discover how King Nebuchadnezzar's pride led to his downfall, how God humbled him, and how he was restored after he acknowledged that the Most High God alone rules over every kingdom, His ways are always right and just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride. Through Scripture-based activities, children will develop a deeper understanding that humility begins with recognizing God as the Creator of all things.
Students will:
- Define humility from a biblical perspective and explain Proverbs 16:18 in their own words
- Explore King Nebuchadnezzar's story and explain how pride led to his downfall and humility led to his restoration
- Learn about ancient Babylon and the historical setting of King Nebuchadnezzar's reign
- Strengthen Bible literacy through Scripture-based reading, discussion, and review activities
- Develop reading comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary, writing, and communication skills
- Apply humility by recognizing God's authority and practicing a humble attitude toward others
This one-week unit study combines character development and educational skill-building in an easy-to-use format. Through hands-on activities, discussion questions, and reflection exercises, students will discover that humility means honoring God and putting others before themselves.
